Just another day in Primitive Heaven

My beautiful sunflowers are blooming like crazy!!! Since we moved to British Columbia last fall I wasn't sure if sunflowers would grow in our very sandy soil...but alas...here they are!!! Growing above the roof tops!

This vulture is from a pattern design from Donna Veal at Moonchilds Primitives. I just love this pattern, and I think it turned out so realistic! You will see some additions to the vulture, the hat, and crow are from patterns from Becky from Tennessee Ridge Primitives, the bat is from a pattern from R&K Creations...another very creative pattern designer...and the pumpkin...well I'm sorry I just forget where it came from, but I did use an actual stem that I had saved from the year before! I put them all together and voila...I ended up selling this whole piece together for $55.

From Becky at Tennessee Ridge Primitives...this pattern is one of her Valentines PatternsAnd this is my take on one of her patterns that she made in a snowman hat, but I used this lovely old tin can!
If you are a primitive lover like me...you need to check out these two websites

both of these gals are wonderful primitive artists...their designs are the greatest prims ever!!! Both gals offer free patterns. I have learned so much from both Becky and Donna. I have bought their patterns, and made their products.
I hope you will visit their sites often!!!
Happy Fall Prim Lovers!!!

Welcome to Beautiful British Columbia!

This is a picture of our beautiful Thompson River. It takes me less than a minute to get to this spot. It is so beautiful and peaceful here. As a primitive artist I am often asked where I get my inspiration from...well, I think it is important for all of us to take a wee bit of time to just look around us and appreciate the little things in life. So this week, I took my camera, and took some pictures of things I could see within the very short walk to this one beautiful spot. I realized how much I miss seeing everyday, and was very refreshed with new ideas. I need to remind myself to take the time to enjoy the simplest things in life, I hope you might do the same!

A Primitive Piece of Mine

Hi Everyone, I am so new to blogging that I messed up my first blog...oh well, just so you now know, I am human! I have been a lover of primitives for just over 3 years now. I discovered primitives one day when I was shopping on ebay and I found the cutes Raggedy Annie. I won her, and her creater Julie and I have been best friends ever since!!! My love of primitives has continued to grow since then and I have discovered so many people, and places on the internet that have taught me all about the primitive way. Through this blog, I hope to share with you some of the places I have found, some of my favorite designers, and some of my own designs. I would also like to share a bit of my little piece of the world here in southern British Columbia Canada.

Today I would like to share one of my favorite spots

www.createaprim.com

This is a place I go to many times. There is so much to be found here from ideas to tips and techniques, there are forums and even a place to shop. Kristal Norton created this site a few years back. She is a stay at home mom, and a wonderful prim artist herself.

Have fun on your trip to create a prim...
I look forward to meeting you, and look forward to reading your blogs!!! Cathryn
